Sylvia began her art training in her native country of Wales. She moved to the United States as a young woman where she continued her studies at the Maryland Art Institute, the Philadelphia College of Art and the Delaware Art Museum.
Her watercolors and pen and ink paintings are often inspired by the Maine coast.
